last weekend i finally had the courage to try making eyes with resin, iv'e been doing research forever on how to make these but couldn't find really help full tutorials, loads of tuts about fur-suit eyes tho but none actually about casting in layers (those were mainly about casting blanks and painting them later after they are cured, but none about doll/sculpture eye making....AT ALL!
so i just had to figure it out myself, made some self made silicone molds for the eyes, on the photos above you see my 3rd batch, batch 1 was a complete FAIL XD batch 2 half a fail but still fail and batch 3 came out pretty decent but is very experimental, but i'm quite pleased how they came out, some are still meh...others are yay XD
but i really wanna make more and practice even more techniques in coloring them, all of them are multi layered and took a long time to make as with each layer it needs to cure for half a day....some have 4 layers so you do the math....
i'm planning to make a tutorial on how to make these as i made a lot of in progress photos on this batch (if anyone is interested tho....)
oh and on both pictures its the same batch just in different order just to show their effect in normal daylight and in flash light as some of them are reflecting
All eyes cast in resin, colored the resin with various media like acrylic paints, glitter dust and pearl ex pigments, polished in transparent nail polish
